Lowrance Navigation Day. Thursday, 9th of Nov
The scheduled Navigation Day has been superseded by Competition Day 1.
Forecast models indicate that extreme weather will move into the Mallacoota region about 3pm on Saturday.
The team here at Hobie Fishing part of the Series 14 Australian Championship takes the safety of all our anglers very seriously.
We have been keeping close observations on the weather forecast here in Mallacoota during the Series 14 Australian Championship tournament.
As such, the weather conditions are predicted to change mid-Saturday from northerly winds to southerly winds. With Sunday shaping up to be a “No-Go” for us from our ability to run the tournament safely.
Daiwa Championship Day 1. Thursday, 9th of Nov
- 5:30am Daily Registration
- 5:50am Mandatory Briefing
- Immediately after Briefing Competitors on water pedal to the POWER-POLE START LINE
- ~3 klms from Briefing & Launch Site to Power-Pole Start Gate.
- Avg on water kayak pedal speed: 6 klm/hour – 30 MINS.
- All 57 Anglers are at the Power-Pole Start Line Competition Day 1 begins at the POWER-POLE START LINE
- 2:30 pm Competition Day 1 ends at the DAIWA BRIEFING & LAUNCH SITE
- All key tags shall be returned to the key tag-board located at the Briefing & Launch Site located at the Mallacoota Boat Ramp Jetty.
- The key tag shall be placed on the key tag-board before the allocated finish time.
- On-site lunch to be supplied at the Briefing & Launch Site after 2:30pm.
Daiwa Championship Day 2. Friday, 10th of Nov
- 5:30am Daily Registration
- 5:50am Mandatory Briefing
Immediately after Briefing Competitors on water pedal to the POWER-POLE START LINE- Immediately after Briefing the POWER-POLE START LINE will at the Briefing & Launch Site.
- ~3 klms from Briefing & Launch Site to Power-Pole Start Gate.
- Avg on water kayak pedal speed: 6 klm/hour – 30 MINS.
- All 57 Anglers are at the Power-Pole Start Line Competition Day 2 begins at the POWER-POLE START LINE
- 1:30 pm
2:30 pmCompetition Day 2 ends at the DAIWA BRIEFING & LAUNCH SITE- All key tags shall be returned to the key tag-board located at the Briefing & Launch Site located at the Mallacoota Boat Ramp Jetty.
- The key tag shall be placed on the key tag-board before the allocated finish time.
- On-site lunch to be supplied at the Briefing & Launch Site after 2:30pm.
Daiwa Championship Day 3. Saturday, 11th of Nov
- 5:30am Daily Registration (Anglers to return sounder chargers before a key tag is assigned)
- 5:50am Mandatory Briefing
- Immediately after Briefing Competitors on water pedal to the POWER-POLE START LINE
- ~3 klms from Briefing & Launch Site to Power-Pole Start Gate.
- Avg on water kayak pedal speed: 6 klm/hour – 30 MINS.
- All 57 Anglers are at the Power-Pole Start Line Competition Day 3 begins at the POWER-POLE START LINE
- 2:30 pm Competition Day 3 ends at the DAIWA BRIEFING & LAUNCH SITE

Mandatory Briefings
It is mandatory to attend all briefings listed above. Anglers who are unable to attend the boat allocation, navigation, & pre-fish day will have to forfeit their entry into the Australian Championship.
No-Go Zones
Competing anglers are to strictly observe all posted No-Go Zones.
For your convenience, all No-Go Zones have been programmed into your competition provided Lowrance sounder. Please help us support the Mallacoota community by avoiding ALL marked locations.
Your cooperation with the above requests will see Hobie Kayak competitions welcomed again to Mallacoota, and beyond, well into the future.
- The ocean side of the Mallacoota Inlet Bar is out of bounds.

Fishing Format
- 3-Day, cumulative weight tournament.
- All eligible fish must be weighed alive and released in a healthy condition.
No Fishing – Pre-fish Ban
The Australian Championship location will have a total pre-fish ban, for 30 days, on the waterway starting from and including Saturday, 7th October up to and including Monday, 6th November.
The Australian Championship Fishing Rules and Hobie Fishing Pre-Fish Bans outline excluded activities during a Fish-Ban.

Angler Checklist (to be supplied by anglers)

- Australian PFD Type 1.
Australian Championship
- All anglers in the Australian Championship shall fish from factory supplied, Hobie kayaks.
- Anglers shall provide their own tackle and safety gear for the Australian Championship.
- The winner of the Hobie Fishing Series 14 Australian Championship shall receive a wildcard entry into the following year’s Australian Championship, provided the angler competes in a minimum* number of rounds in that year’s Hobie Fishing Series. *Minimum Number of rounds to be determined.
- Only official tournament apparel is permitted be worn during Pre-Fish and Competition Days.
